Factory data reset (off) - Samsung Galaxy S III
A factory data reset can help with a blank or frozen screen,
applications that hang or freeze, problems with the keyboard / touch screen, cannot
hear, the device generates noise, cannot make or receive calls, and the device
it will not be synchronized.
v Warning Perform a factory data reset only if absolutely necessary, since it deletes all data, including:
· Google account
· System and data of the application
· Application Settings
· Downloaded applications
· Media (Music, photos and videos, etc.)
Note Notes:
· Personal data (for example, Wi-Fi passwords, browser bookmarks, etc.) can be backed up on Google servers.
· An alternative restart method is available if the device can be turned on and responds.
· If you are solving problems with third-party applications, disable the Automatic restore option.
· Make sure the device is turned off.
Note If the screen is frozen, remove / reinsert the battery.
· Press and hold simultaneously the power button (located on the upper right edge) + volume increase button (located on the left edge near the top) + start button (located at the bottom in the middle) until it appears the start of recovery in the upper left part of the screen.
Note: If the Android system recovery screen is not displayed, check the alternative button method.
· From the Android system recovery screen, select delete data / reset to factory.
Note Use the volume up / down keys to highlight and the power button to select.
· Select Yes - delete all user data.
Note Wait a few seconds for the factory data reset to complete.
· Select reboot the system now.
Note Allow several minutes for the restart process to complete.

Alternative button method

Simultaneously press and
hold the power button + volume up button + start key until the Samsung logo
appears, then release only the power button. Release the button to increase the
volume and the start key when the recovery screen appears.
